How It Works
The Grain Bill Builder calculator uses a simple formula to estimate the amount of base grain and specialty grain needed to achieve a target original gravity (OG) for a given batch size. The formula is based on the style of beer being brewed, with different styles requiring different proportions of base grain and specialty grain. The calculator uses the following formula: Grain Weight = (Target OG x Batch Size x 8.3454 x Grain Percentage) / 36, where Grain Percentage is the percentage of base grain or specialty grain in the grain bill.
How to Use

- Enter your target original gravity (OG) in the OG field.
